G. Michael Casey graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2001 with a B.A. degree and earned his J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in 2005. Upon receiving his license to practice law in 2005, Mr. Casey started his own law practice, practicing almost exclusively in the areas of family and juvenile law litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Casey joined the law firm of Divorce Incorporated as a partner/shareholder in 2007, where he grew the firm to three offices, stretching from Memphis, Tennessee, to Clarksville, Tennessee.
In 2015, Mr. Casey, along with Kortney Simmons and Daniel Bryant, formed the law firm Casey, Simmons and Bryant, PLLC, where he acts as the managing member. Mr. Casey’s chief areas of practice are complex and contested family law litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Casey was named one of Tennessee’s Top 10 Under 40 family law attorneys in the State of Tennessee in 2015. Mr. Casey practices in courts across the State of Tennessee from all of our offices.
Kortney D. Simmons, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, graduated from the University Of Mississippi School Of Law in 2011, where she earned her J.D. with a Certificate in Criminal Law. Prior to law school, Ms. Simmons received her B.S. in International Relations from Middle Tennessee State University, where she graduated cum laude in 2007. In 2011 Ms. Simmons was admitted to the Tennessee Bar and joined Divorce Incorporated as an Associate Attorney.
In 2015, Ms. Simmons, along with G. Michael Casey and Daniel P. Bryant, formed the law firm of Casey, Simmons and Bryant, PLLC. Ms. Simmons practices in courts across Tennessee, but primarily practices in West Tennessee. Her primary areas of practice are criminal defense, juvenile and family law.
Daniel P. Bryant graduated in the top ten percent of his law school class, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in 2010. Before law school, Mr. Bryant earned his B.S. degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is a native of Tullahoma, Tennessee. In 2010 Mr. Bryant was licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee and joined Divorce Incorporated as an associate attorney.
In 2015, Mr. Bryant, along with G. Michael Casey and Kortney D. Simmons, formed the law firm of Casey, Simmons, & Bryant, PLLC. Mr. Bryant practices primarily in Montgomery, Stewart, Houston, Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson, and other middle Tennessee counties. His areas of focus are family law, juvenile law, and criminal defense.
William E. Tallent graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he earned his J.D. Prior to law school, Mr. Tallent earned a B.A. in Political Science and Classics from the University of Mississippi, where he also graduated Cum Laude. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Mr. Tallent joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2012. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Memphis Bar Association. His primary areas of practice are in divorce and custody matters, probate and estate planning, and criminal defense. Mr. Tallent works primarily in our Memphis, Tennessee Office.
Shalini Bhatia Sawhney earned her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. Prior to law school, Shalini attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs with a focus on Global Public Health. She is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Since being admitted to the Tennessee Bar, Shalini has practiced in the areas of civil litigation and estate planning. Shalini joined Divorce Incorporated as an associate attorney in 2014. She is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and conversational in Spanish. Shalini works primarily in Divorce Incorporated’s East Memphis Office, and her primary areas of practice are juvenile and family law, estate planning and elder law.
